12th Annual Senior Festival of the Arts

Event Description

The Senior Festival of the Arts is a non-juried art show for seniors (ages 55+) from communities in and around Berks County. Events throughout the week include daily hours for viewing the exhibit, an opening reception and awards ceremony, a photography and a Pysanky workshop for seniors, a film screening of Pollock, musical performances, and more.

Event Schedule

Sunday, June 3rd  
1-4pm – Exhibit open for viewing
1pm – Reception featuring live music from “Suzanne & Dan”
2pm – Artist Awards Ceremony

Monday June 4th            
12-4pm – Exhibit open for viewing

Tuesday June 5th           
12-4pm – Exhibit open for viewing
1pm – PhotoDiscovery – a Photography Lecture & Workshop with Patricia Scialo (Tickets required, $5/person)

Wednesday June 6th  
12-4pm - Exhibit open for viewing
1pm – Free screening of “Pollock”, the 2000 film starring Ed Harris & Marcia Gay Harden

Thursday June 7th        
12-4pm - Exhibit open for viewing
1pm – “Pysanky” workshop with Kim Kostival (Tickets required, $15/person)

Friday June 8th          
12-4pm - Exhibit open for viewing

Saturday June 9th          
12-4pm - Exhibit open for viewing

Sunday, June 10th          
12-4pm - Exhibit open for viewing
2pm – Closing program with The Wyomissing Band

Information for Artists Interested in Participating:

  • Non-juried art show for seniors (ages 55+) Must turn 55 by April 30, 2018.
  • Categories: Acrylic, Drawing Mediums, Mixed Media-Mixed Technique-Alcohol Ink, Oil, Watercolor, Photography, 2D Textile Fine Art (new category), Berk County Category - "Country Life in Berks"
  • Artists may only enter (1) piece per category. $10.00 per entry before 5/23/18, $15.00 per entry 5/24-29/2018
  • Find out more and complete the entry form.
  • Art Intake Days are Tuesday, May 29th 9:00am-4:00pm and Wednesday, May 30th 9:00am-11:00am.
  • Artists should deliver their artwork by utilizing the Miller Center loading entrance which is located on 2nd Street just past the I-MAX theater. Walk up the steps of the loading dock to the rear entrance of the building.
