COVID-19 UPDATE: March 13, 2020

As arts organizations around the country make decisions in the shared effort to curb the spread of COVID19, The Miller Center for the Arts is announcing the cancellations of all events starting with Danu, Friday 13, through the screenings of Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb  on Friday, April 17.  Patrons holding tickets for any events occurring during this time period will be refunded the cost of their in the method in which purchased with cash sales reimbursed via check.
 
The safety and health of our audiences, artists and theatre staff remains our highest priority. As the situation around COVID19 evolves, we will continue take precautions as outlined by federal health authorities and state and local officials, to ensure that The Miller Center for the Arts is ready to welcome patrons back after this temporary suspension of shows.


MILLER CENTER RESPONDS TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

In an effort to assuage and protect our patrons and supporters, the Miller Center is taking the following measures to help limit the spread of COVID-19 (otherwise known as Coronavirus):

  • Establish hand sanitizer stations throughout the Miller Center facility,
  • Provide sanitized wipes for use on armrests, and
  • Staff will limit contact with audience members by looking at tickets rather than tearing them.

In turn, Miller Center patrons and supporters are encouraged to:

  • Stay home if feeling ill (the Miller Center is happy to exchange your ticket for an event later in the season),
  • Wash hands thoroughly and frequently,
  • Cough/sneeze into your elbow, and
  • Apply hand sanitizer when available.

Miller Center programming and operations will continue as usual unless the City of Reading or Reading Area Community College calls for a state of emergency.

ABOUT THE MILLER CENTER

The Miller Center for the Arts, located on the campus of Reading Area Community College, has become an anchor in the city of Reading's cultural landscape. Our 509-seat theatre offers quality programming for all ages and interests. Whether you would like to see modern dance, improve comedy or a children's show, the Miller Center has something for everyone.

Some of the more prominent acts that have appeared at the Miller Center include New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players, Phildanco and the Flying Karamazov Brothers. Please view our full list of shows for more details on the current season.

ADA INFORMATION

The Miller Center for the Arts is fully ADA compliant.

HANDICAP PARKING - There is no drop off location around the perimeter of the Miller Center. It is suggested that patrons using wheelchairs or walkers and their companions park in the designated sites and then proceed to the front entrance of the building. Please do not stop along 2nd Street, as it is both illegal and unsafe.

Handicap parking is provided in two sites:

  • Front Street, under Penn Street Bridge (east side)
  • Front and Washington Parking Garage, level 1

HANDICAP ENTRANCES - patrons in wheelchairs and using walkers may use both front entrances, both of which are equipped with electronic door opening devices.
