This event is free, but donations will be accepted.

Playful, creative, fun, easy and contagious. Equally suited for the total novice as well as professional artist. Participants will create several finished prints using high flow acrylic paints or inks, and stencils or textured objects through a series of one-off prints called monotype.

Jennifer Hetrick, author of The Labor of Our Fingertips: Poems from Manufacturing History in Berks County, is a seasoned professional at bringing history to life through helping people explore and share their memories poetically.  Participants in this workshop will be calling upon their childhood as a way to capture glimmers of the past but also to craft fresh, personal poetry.  To top it off, winners of the Berks Encore Senior Poetry Contest

13th Annual Senior Festival of the Arts
June 2-9, 2019

The Senior Festival of the Arts is a non-juried art show for seniors (ages 55+) from communities in and around Berks County. Events throughout the week include daily hours for viewing the exhibit, an opening reception and awards ceremony, a Childhood Memories Poetry workshop and a Gelatinplate Printing workshop for seniors, a film screening of Cyrano de Bergerac, and an Art Lecture.
